Summary: Operate HTST (High Temperature Short Time) units to produce required amount of product for production schedule. Also involves following formulas to pre-blend ingredients for pasteurization. Employee responsible for sanitation of equipment.
Work Schedule:
- 2:00pm - 10:00pm, off Sunday and Thursday
Salary: $26.50 per hour, night shift differential of $0.50/hr and overtime opportunity
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Include the following and other duties assigned by supervision.
- Operate equipment to pasteurize milk and other drink mixes.
- Work under close supervision in a team setting and have the ability to perform duties and make sound decisions in a fast-paced production environment.
- Adhere to proper formulations regarding butterfat, ingredients, and SOP for processing.
- Monitor multiple pieces of equipment to ensure proper on time start up, quality product, and minimal unplanned stoppages.
- Accurately and efficiently follow Standard Operating Procedures to conduct changeovers and proper shutdown to minimize waste and downtime.
- Break down equipment for cleaning and reassembling.
- Clean equipment and maintain proper housekeeping of the area.
- Must comply with Good Manufacturing Processes under FDA standards.
- Required to maintain documentation that all procedures have been followed, completed, and reviewed.
- Work in a Safety Sensitive position and is required to follow all safety rules and procedures including but not limited to foot and hearing protection and to report all hazardous conditions immediately to management.
- Required to work mandatory overtime when needed.
- Any other duties as assigned by management.
Education
- High school diploma or GED required
Minimum Job Requirements
- Must have 4 years’ experience as a pasteurizer with at least 2 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
- Must be a team player and able to work in a team environment and as an individual contributor.
- Must have basic keyboard and mathematical skills.
- Ability to apply analytical reasoning and root cause analysis to solve problems.
- Ability to climb steps, ladders, underneath equipment and piping, and lifting up to 70 lbs and moving drums up to 600 lbs.
- Work in a wet, noisy and slippery environment.
