Cooler Supervisor
Under the direct supervision of the Cooler Manager, the Cooler Supervisor is responsible for the supervision of employees to ensure all work is completed on time. Responsibilities include planning work schedules for efficient utilization of labor force to reduce overtime costs, train employees, and maintaining discipline and high morale in the department. Must be able to handle daily operations of a multi-shift and multi-customer warehouse, including inventory control, shipping and receiving and cross dock operations.
The successful applicant will maintain high levels of accuracy in day-to-day operations lead the warehouse team and provide flawless customer service to our clients.
Schedule:
5:00pm, Tuesday - Saturday
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manages receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures.
- Completes warehouse operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees to tasks and following up on work results.
- Maintains cooler staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees.
- Monitors load out to prevent errors, wrong codes, shortages, etc.
- Safeguards warehouse operations and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols.
- Controls inventory accuracy by conducting physical counts.
- Maintains physical condition of the cooler by ensuring areas are clean. Responsible for department housekeeping and product code rotation.
- Communicates with other departments on a daily basis on route completion, product shortages, trailer changes, etc.
- Ensures a culture of safety by enforcing safety standards and adhering to standard operational procedures.
- Compliance with OSHA, SQF, GMPs and FDA regulations as it applies to warehouse operations and the handling and storage of food products.
- Any other duties as assigned by management.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- 3+ years of supervisory experience in Warehousing.
- Experience in day-to-day warehousing operations; shipping, receiving and inventory.
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills
- Ability to lift 50 pounds on a frequent basis.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
- Must be effective in verbal, written and inter-personnel communication skills.
- Familiarization with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
