Diesel Mechanic

 

Cloverland Farms Dairy is seeking a Diesel Mechanic to work at our Baltimore facility.

Under the direction of the Shop Manager, the Diesel Mechanic is responsible for repair and preventive maintenance of the fleet of vehicles operated by the Cloverland drivers for delivery of products to our customers.

Work Schedule:

  • Sunday, Wednesday & Thursday - 6:00am - 4:30pm
  • Monday - 9:00am - 7:30pm
  • Off Tuesday, Friday & Saturday

Pay Rate:

  • $26.40/hr

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic tests on diesel engines and interpret the results to resolve issues.
  • Perform repairs including electrical and hydraulic systems.
  • Review and complete repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Report (DVIR).
  • Inspect vehicle systems, including suspension, steering, and exhausts.
  • Repair or replace vehicle transmissions, brakes, engines, and other associated parts.
  • Complete oil changes, wheel balancing, alignment, and brake checks.
  • Perform monthly Preventive Maintenance inspections.
  • Document repairs and parts on work orders correctly and accurately.
  • Maintain tools and workplace so the conditions are neat and orderly.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by management.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • 1+ years’ experience in truck repair is required.
  • Experience in repairs Detroit and Cummins is required.
  • Possession a valid CDL license and DOT medical card is required.
  • Must be capable of reading, understanding instructions, and have knowledge of basic math skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours including overtime, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to lift and carry 50 lbs. repeatedly throughout the day.
  • Wet and slippery floor conditions.
  • Must be able to stand and walk during the entire shift.
  • Constant bending, lifting, reaching, pulling, and climbing ladders during an eight (8) or ten (10) hour shift.
  • Ability to perform the essential job functions safely and successfully consistent with ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
