Blow Mold Mechanic
Cloverland Farms Dairy in Baltimore, MD is seeking a Blow Mold Mechanic. The Blow Mold Mechanic is responsible for performing a variety of duties to include primarily troubleshoot and maintain blow mold machines, bottle conveyors, bagging/debagging equipment and perform other general maintenance and repair duties.
Pay Rate: $30.50/hour, plus $0.50/hr differential. Overtime opportunity is available.
Work Schedule: 2:30pm - 11:00pm Monday - Friday
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance and repairs on blow mold machines, bottle trimmers, baggers, debaggers, and conveying machinery.
- Maintain electrical control and power circuitry motors.
- Monitor the performance of pneumatic and hydraulic systems and grease/oil equipment as needed.
- Assist and/or install new equipment.
- Assist outside service techs on maintenance to plant facilities.
- Manage the inventory and request for purchase of supplies and parts.
- Perform preventive maintenance and maintain records on all equipment.
- Maintain tools and workplace so the conditions are neat and orderly.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- 1+ years’ experience in troubleshooting and repairing control systems – mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic.
- Experience in Plastic Blow Molding or general manufacturing plastic products is preferred.
- Able to perform light administrative duties.
- Ability to use hand tools and small power tools.
- Must be capable of reading, understanding instructions, and have knowledge of basic math skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Must be willing to work flexible hours including overtime, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift and carry 50 lbs. repeatedly throughout the day.
- Wet and slippery floor conditions.
- Must be able to stand and walk during the entire shift.
- Constant bending, lifting, reaching, pulling, and climbing ladders during an eight (8) or ten (10) hour shift.
- Able to distinguish color, perform intricate tasks, read small print, and see at normal distances.
- Ability to perform the essential job functions safely and successfully consistent with ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
