Route Supervisor

Cloverland Farms Dairy is looking for a Route Supervisor for our Baltimore MD location.  In this role, you will have full management responsibility from monitoring and managing routes, to supervising employees. Ensure customers receive high quality service in a timely and conscious manner according to company standards. Assist in handling escalated customer issues. Ensure that the routes operate in a safe manner and all company, and regulatory practices are followed in the areas of DOT, EPA, and Safety-OSHA. You will be responsible for developing relationships as well as nurturing client relationships, using company resources.

Schedule: 

12:00am – 9:00am (Monday night – Friday night)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for employee (driver) supervision to include: manage productivity of each driver in accordance with regulatory agency guidelines, performance reviews, compensation issues, scheduling, and complaints.
  • Organize and schedule all necessary resources required to accomplish activities and coordinate daily operational needs.
  • Review and audit documentation related to route operations daily (e.g., driver time and attendance, open tickets) and follow-up where appropriate.
  • Manage the end-of-day check-in process, capturing and communicating key service, safety, and equipment issues.
  • Plan, distribute, monitor, and follow-up on daily route assignments to ensure customers are serviced per company standards and agreements.
  • Schedule deliveries and investigate problems/concerns of customers, Driver Vehicle Inspection Report (DVIR) repairs, container swaps, and safety issues reported by drivers.
  • Establish and maintain a clean, safe work environment in compliance with Company/Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external clients.
  • Monitor daily routes and on-time delivery performance
  • Coordinate and issue daily the Handheld (HH) equipment to drivers and be able to resolve any issues associated with all HH.
  • Check and evaluate all power jacks at the start of shift to ensure that they are plugged in and operational.  Resolve any issues when necessary.
  • Ensure all drivers have all tools necessary to be able to accomplish their duties daily such as: hooks, load bars, hand trucks, Handhelds, Power jacks, etc.
  • Coordinate the dispatch of drivers and provide support as needed.
  • Provide timely and accurate customer communication
  • Ensure routing solutions comply with DOT hours-of-service and customer needs
  • Perform analysis of route and driver performance
  • Work closely with warehouse management
  • Any other duties as assigned by management.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • 3+ years of supervisory experience in Logistics/Delivery Operations.
  • Ability to manage a high energy, dynamic dock and delivery operation
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
  • Must be effective in verbal, written and inter-personnel communication skills.
  • Familiarization with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

  • Frequently required to sit and reach with hands and arms.
  • Occasionally required to stand, walk, climb or balance and stop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. 
  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds occasionally.  
  • Temperatures may vary depending on the season.
