Packaging Mechanic

Description:
Immediate opportunity exists for packaging mechanic positions on our evening shifts. The successful candidate will be responsible to perform a variety of duties to primarily troubleshoot and maintain packaging equipment and perform other general maintenance and repair duties. Preventive maintenance experience and a truly positive approach to finding problems before they affect equipment operation is highly valued. Troubleshooting and repairing control systems, both electrical and pneumatic, is a plus.

Typical duties include performance of maintenance and repairs on:
 
  • plant carton and plastic-bottle forming, filling, labeling, casing, stacking and conveying machinery
  • electric control and power circuitry, motors
  • greasing and oiling
  • assist and/or install new equipment
  • improvements to plant facilities
  • investigate supplies and parts needs from stock, requesting parts purchases when required
  • maintain preventative maintenance records daily
  • housekeeping of all work areas
  • perform other varied duties as directed
