Cloverland Dairy is located in Baltimore City, Maryland, where we provide over 300 jobs for local residents. The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for diagnosing and repairing problems with all production equipment including conveyors, packaging lines, rotary and carton fillers. Additionally, Maintenance Mechanics will perform routine preventative maintenance to minimize equipment downtime and ensure the product produced is of the highest quality and safe. This role will require daily documentation pertaining to downtime, spare parts, and preventative maintenance performed. This role will also assist with equipment changeovers. Must have own tools.
Work Schedule
2:00pm - 10:00pm, Tuesday - Saturday
Pay Rate:
- $29.00/hr and $0.40/hr differential
- Overtime opportunities available
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Minimum 3-5 years production maintenance and repair experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in food manufacturing plant preferred, but not required.
- Hands on maintenance, troubleshooting, repair and upgrade to Facilities and Production equipment.
- Demonstrated ability to read and interpret documents such as safety and environmental policies, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals, etc.
- Ability to work safe and follow all Cloverland Dairy’s, state, and federal safety guidelines and requirements.
- Follow all GMP standards and maintain compliance.
- Ability to read written instructions, diagrams, and blueprints.
- Communicate verbally or written with team members and supervision.
- Completing daily report log writing and work order documentation.
- Ability to shift directions as requirements and priorities change.
- Basic operational understanding of high-speed production equipment.
- General knowledge, skills, and the ability to troubleshoot and repair the following:
o Plastic bottle filler
o Carton filler
o Labelers
o Video Jet Printers
o Tabletop conveyors
o Vacuum pickup
o Pneumatics
o Heat sealing machines
- General understanding and ability of read electrical wiring diagrams.
- Welding experience a plus.
- Working understanding and troubleshooting of electrical controls, communications, and circuitry motors
- Empty packaging carton pick-up and alignment/ forming
- Inspections
- Lubrication
- Assist/install new equipment
- Improvements to plant facilities
- Investigate supplies and parts needs from stock, requesting parts purchases when required.
- Maintain preventative maintenance records daily
- Perform other duties as directed
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and or carry up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand, walk, reach, squat, and bend.
- Ability to use hand tools and small power tools.
- Ability to work in wet and cold temperatures.
- Ability to work in confine spaces
- Ability to distinguish color
- Ability to perform intricate tasks, read small print, and to see at normal distances.
